Looking for something to do this summer? Want to make a difference in the world? This is your chance!

The cast of Degrassi will be participating in volunteer trips with Me to We, and they want you to join them! Dalmar & Scott will be going to Ecuador on Aug. 10-28th, while Sarah & Evan will be going to India July 21-Aug. 9. You’ll get the chance to learn about the destination’s culture while volunteering for the community and making a difference. AND you’ll get to hang out with some of our favourite cast members!

All flights for trips with the Degrassi cast will be departing from Toronto. It is a hefty price tag, so you’ll have to do some fundraising to get there. For all the information on this trip as well as others, check out the Me To We website!

“Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars” featuring Melinda Shankar and Aislinn Paul will be premiering on the Disney Channel March 26th at 8pm ET. The film is a contemporary twist on the iconic character and stars Jennifer Stone as Harriet.

Willing to do whatever it takes to earn the coveted position, Harriet competes against her arch nemesis, popular student Marion Hawthorne, in a month-long blog war to win her classmates support. When Harriet’s father, movie producer Roger Welsch, signs on to produce the sequel to the hottest teen-musical, “Spy High,” she knows her inside scoop will be a perfect opportunity to win over her classmates.

Melinda plays a character named Janie, and Aislinn plays Beth Ellen.

In this interview with Zack Taylor, Melinda Shankar announces that season 10 will have 48 episodes! That is huge number of episodes for one season, and might explain why we’ve heard reports of season 10 premiering in the summer. Melinda also confirms that season 10 will begin filming next month.

Also on Twitter today Stephen Stohn confirmed that each episode of season 10 will be a half hour long and will take these characters through an entire school year.

Stephen Stohn has been teasing us about a new, surprising, and exciting Degrassi season 10 on twitter for some time now. Within the next month or so, we will be getting a major announcement on the show. Today Stephen tweeted: “The Degrassi announcement will likely be made March 11th–maybe before then, but most likely then … and ps they may talk about the fact that this is the 10th Season of DNG, and the 30th anniversary of the first Kids of Degrassi St. on air … but THAT isn’t the main surprise either!” As many of you know, 2010 is the 30th anniversary of the Degrassi franchise. We can’t wait to find out what is to come for Degrassi in the future!

Stephen has already confirmed that (1) the announcement is not a date for the next movie (although that may be part of it), (2) it’s not about Degrassi getting cancelled (it’s a good surprise), and (3) it’s not about a spinoff (although they are thinking about it).

Have you been to Whatever it Takes recently? Degrassi-Fans.com blogger Ashley recently attended the Soundspeed showcase in Toronto and has since posted a full report of her experience! On the overall experience, Ashley writes:

Overall, I had a great time at the show. I wasn’t expecting the band sound like it did in a way. Their EP , and the preview clips don’t compare to when they perform live. If you EVER have the opportunity to see them live, go and see them! They are amazing live, and all of them are great entertainers, and really nice, down to earth guys.
