The Degrassi Goes Hollywood soundtrack was released on US iTunes yesterday. Here are the other release dates for the disc:
Aug. 4th - Physical copies of the CD released in the US
Aug. 11th - Available for download on Canadian iTunes
Aug. 25th - Physical copies of the CD released in Canada
Few details have been released yet, but we now know that there will be a screening of Degrassi Goes Hollywood in Toronto on Wednesday, Aug. 26th. According to Stefan on Twitter, the cast will be there!

It’s been 4 years since Cassie Steele released her debut album. At that time she was 15 years old and in the middle of her 5th season as Manny Santos on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Now she’s a 19 year old young woman living in LA. Her second album, Destructo Doll, was released last Tuesday. With a mixture of R&B, pop, rock, and grunge, Destructo Doll is a fantastic summer album that will not disappoint Cassie’s fans.

Melinda Shankar’s new series “How to Be Indie” will premiere on October 2nd according to this YTV press release. How to Be Indie is a half hour comedy series about a girl trying to balance her family’s immigrant traditions with being a Canadian teenager. A new print advert for the season 8 DVD has revealed its cover art along with the special features. Click here to see the ad depicting the cover seen above as well as information about the DVD. According to this ad, special features on the season 8 DVD include: bloopers, deleted scenes, podcasts, minis, on sets, and the “My Window” music video (wouldn’t this have been better on the season 7 DVD? lol). The DVD includes all episodes of season 8 as well as the Degrassi Goes Hollywood movie. It will be released on Sept. 1st.

Stephen Stohn has been providing us with a lot of information about the season 8 release date as it becomes available. At one point, the DVDs were coming out at different times in the US and Canada and there was talk of releasing Degrassi Goes Hollywood separately. Now it looks as though the season 8 DVD will be released on Sept. 1st in the US and Canada. Stephen tweeted about that yesterday, and Amazon also has Sept. 1st as the release date currently. No word yet on the special features or cover art, however.
Adamo Ruggiero is getting good at hosting! He along with Paula Brancati will be hosting the Miss Teen Canada competition at the John Bassett Theatre in Toronto. The event takes place on July 25th at 8pm ET. Teenage girls from across Canada will be competing for the title.
