An Update from Stephen Stohn about Degrassi’s timeline for season 10/11:

okay there seems to be confusion about the Degrassi timeline, and when the Boiling Point began and ends, and when Season 10 begins and ends. Here’s the scoop: the Boiling Point was the first half of Season 10–it ended last week, it was 24 episodes broadcast daily.. when the Boiling Point ended we were at Winter Break… when we pick up this October we will be returning from Winter Break.. the episodes starting this October are no longer rferred to as the Boiling Point, they are simply Degrassi.. they will be broadcast weekly there will be 20 episodes broadcast weekly in the second half of Season 10.. this is down slightly from our original projection of 24…at the end of the 20 episodes in the second half of Season 10 we will be just starting Spring Break. while nothing is confirmed, the ratings for Degrassi have been so good this year that we are very confident there will be a Season 11… Season 11 would start likely in July of next year at Spring Break… ..and the first half of Season 11 would likely consist of 24 episodes broadcast daily–just like this year!

Degrassi Cast Returns From India
August 28th, 2010 | Written by Erin | Contact: e-mail

Our cast is home safe & sound! They just returned from their trip to India earlier today. The above picture was just recently posted on Jessica Tyler’s Facebook page, and I’m sure there’s more where that came from! We do know that a film crew was with the cast filming behind the scenes footage. When & how this will be released remains to be seen. Personally I’m hoping for another half hour behind the scenes special like the ones made for the Kenya and Ecuador trips!

Of course today everybody has been talking about Munro’s future Twitter account, which he was going to create after the trip. In fact, as I write this entry, “Munro” is STILL a trending topic in Canada (he has been since the cast got back this morning). According to Stephen Stohn Munro will “set it up Monday during a break in his filming!”

Ask Your Favourite Cast Member a Question!
August 27th, 2010 | Written by Erin | Contact: e-mail
Filled in: exclusive, interviews, much music

Today I had the chance to Skype with Abby, Krista, and Stephanie from Epitome along with a bunch of other bloggers. We got to talk about so many different things to do with Degrassi, and we asked them a few questions. Nicole suggested that there should be a way in which fans can ask questions to the cast directly and the lovely people at Epitome/Much Music made that happen!

Go to Much Music’s blog right now and you can leave a comment with a question for any of the cast members! They are going to film each actor answering some of the best questions and then post the videos on the Much blog!! How awesome is that?

Also, a few other things to note: the characters will still be tweeting over break so keep following them! The Degrassi mobile app is going to come out around the same time as the new episodes start again in October. They are filming the cast in India, but they aren’t sure if it’s going to be made into a TV special yet or used in other ways. Another movie is still being dicussed; they aren’t sure if it will happen yet. And there is *talk* that Degrassi might be doing another mall tour or some more cast appearances like they were circa season 4.

Thanks to Epitome & the other bloggers - it was a lot of fun talking to you all!

Once again, Degrassi was in Soap Opera Weekly this week. This time the article featured an interview with Aislinn Paul. Talking about Eli & Clare in the finale, she said: “Just like the season is coming to a critical point, their relationship is coming to a critical point, and it gets really exciting … We try to resolve as much as we can, in order to keep the viewers happy, but obviously we leave some questions unanswered - just to leave a little suspense for the rest of the season.” Click on the image for a full size scan. Melinda Gives Us Some Back to School Advice
August 27th, 2010 | Written by Erin | Contact: e-mail
Filled in: interviews, melinda shankar

Shedoesthecity.com brings us a new interview with Melinda Shankar; this one all about her thoughts on Alli & back to school advice.

Your character just held her own against a guy who wasn’t interested in anything other than fooling around. On the show, you end up together. What’s your advice to girls dealing with this situation in real life?
I can’t stress self respect enough. The rule is simple; if you have respect for yourself, people (guys especially) won’t think that you’re “that girl” that they can fool around on and disrespect! Make sure the guy likes you for you. If you find out that he’s not in it for the right reasons, look forward to finding an amazing guy that will be perfect for you! Never settle for anyone less than you’re worth!
